Order of Stephen E. Ambrose Books

Stephen Edward Ambrose (1936-2002) was an American non-fiction author known for his biographies of U.S. Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon, as well as his works on American and military history. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1960. In addition to his biographies, Ambrose wrote about figures such as Crazy Horse and General Custer, and events like D-Day and the Lewis and Clark expedition. He passed away from lung cancer in April 2002, leaving behind his wife, Moira, and five children. Ambrose published his first book, Duty, Honor, Country: A History of West Point, in 1967. His only novel, a fictional journal titled This Vast Land: A Young Man’s Journal of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, was released posthumously in 2003. Below is a list of Stephen E.
